Adam Geraghty

I heard about this artist through an email I received. The first thing that struck me was that he is Irish. I have quite deep Irish roots through my father so I love hearing about new Irish singers and I love being able to promote them and this one certainly is no exception.

At only 14 years old, Adam Geraghty already has his own unique sound and image which other artists and bands can take years to create. He has not followed the crowd  but decided to go against the mainstream music industry and create new music which is entirely his own.

When I first listened to his EP, “Revolve” it reminded me of previous artists I had reviewed in particular, Johnny Flynn and Boy who Trapped the Sun.

Adam is the type of artist who is difficult to label with a specific genre but that’s certainly not a bad thing;  he is a bit of this and a bit of that, but, most importantly, his lyrics and raw talent make for a brilliant EP filled with different emotions and catchy tunes which are sure to get him noticed.

My favourite track off the EP is Watch it Grow. It has differents elements of folk, pop and acoustic which makes it a great chill out song. The intrumental part of this track is so stripped back at sections that you could imagine this song being a great one at an unplugged gig. This track in particular I feel is very reminiscent of Johnny Flynn.

However, if you want to listen and see Adam Geraghty in action then check out his new video for the first track off the EP called “Oval Mirror”

Overall, this is a very talented singer who at only 14 has created an image that is all his own. If he can do this at such a young age I can’t wait to see what he can achieve musically in the future and how he progresses from here.
